Fanatec Podium Steering Wheel Monte Carlo – REVIEW

The Fanatec Podium Steering Wheel Monte Carlo is no replica.  It is the exact wheel used by Sebastien Loeb to win the 2022 Monte Carlo Rally.  This is a modular system that in the Monte Carlo bundle comes with a genuine Sparco R383 Rim, Podium Button Module Rally, Podium Hub and QR2 Pro Wheel-Side Quick Release.  As the Podium Button Module Rally can be purchased individually, this opens up a huge range of options to suit different driving styles on pretty much any rim with a 6 X 70mm bolt pattern. We took a close look at Podium Button Module Rally with the Monte Carlo bundle as well as the Rally Sweden bundle which uses the Podium Button Module Rally on a replica Sparco rim made by Fanatec and the ClubSport Universal Hub. So do you need a real WRC winning wheel in your Sim Rig?  Does the cheaper bundle better suit the needs of sim racers? Or are you better off with a completely different rim for this button module? Let’s find out!

Tom has been a motorsport fanatic for as long as he can remember, with a particular obsession for sim racing and high-end tech. As the primary video producer and website curator at Boosted Media, he's spent the past five years testing and reviewing hundreds of products alongside big brother Will, diving deep into the details and getting hands on experience with a huge range of gear. When he's not behind the camera or in the editing suite, you'll probably find him fine tuning his rig, and chasing lap times.
