In Part One of our video series “The Complete Wheel Fitment Guide” we take a look at what Offset is, and how Width, Diameter and Offset are correctly measured on an unmarked wheel.

This is particularly useful when choosing aftermarket wheels when you need to figure out the specs of your factory wheels as a starting point.

Summary:

Width: The measurement across the wheel from the inside of the lip to the inside of the lip on the opposing side.

Diameter: The width of the wheel across the face from the base of the lip to the base of the lip.

Offset: The distance that the mounting pad of the wheel deviates from the exact centre line of the width of the wheel. Can be Positive (towards the face of the wheel), or Negative (towards the rear face of the wheel).
