Part 2 in our video series “The Complete Wheel Fitment Guide”. In this 3 minute video I explain What Stud Pattern / PCD is, and how to measure it on your car.

Knowing the Stud pattern or PCD of your car is absolutely critical when choosing aftermarket wheels.

Stud Pattern or PCD consists of two components, the number of studs on the hub by the diagonal spacing between them. For example, a 5×100 stud pattern consists of 5 studs, with a diagonal spacing of 100mm.

Correct stud spacing must be measured diagonally to the centre of the stud, you can not simply measure the distance between the studs. Imagine a circle that runs though the centre of each stud. The stud spacing measurement is the diameter of this virtual circle.
