The Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro Wheel Base (8Nm) comes with the Boost Kit 180 power supply allowing full use of the DD Pro Wheel Base’s 8Nm peak torque.

When purchasing the non Playstation compatible equivalent (CSL DD) and the complete Gran Turismo DD Pro package you have the option of a standard power supply which enables 5Nm peak torque, or the Boost Kit 180 to unlock the full 8Nm.

The Fanatec ecosystem can seem a little confusing when it comes to compatibility, but all you need to remember is that Playstation compatibility comes from a security chip within the wheelbase, while XBOX compatibility comes from the steering wheel.

So with a Playstation compatible wheel base such as the Gran Turismo DD Pro, you will have Playstation and PC compatibility.  Add to that an XBOX compatible wheel such as the McLaren GT3 V2, and you will now also be able to use your wheelbase with an XBOX.

If of course you do not need Playstation compatibility, you’re able to save a bit of money and go for the CSL DD with either 5 or 8Nm of peak torque.

Compatibility and some cosmetic differences aside, the Gran Turismo DD Pro Wheel Base 8Nm is identical to the Fanatec CSL DD.  We have gone to a huge level of detail in our review of the Fanatec CSL DD so make sure you check out the videos below for all that info.

We know from our experience with the CSL DD that this wheel base is capable of producing a very smooth and detailed force feedback in sim racing titles such as iRacing, Assetto Corsa Competition, Automobilista, and plenty more, but would this translate across to Playstation despite using the same hardware? Drivers and software play such an important role in the overall performance of a wheel base.  So we took the GT Pro DD for a test drive in all the main PS5 racing titles to see exactly what you can expect from this wheel base on Playstation.
