VRS has built a strong reputation in sim racing hardware with the excellent value Direct Force Pro wheelbase and pedals. Their ecosystem is now complete with the Direct Force Pro Formula Steering Wheel. At launch, its official retail price looked out of step — more expensive than their 20 Nm wheelbase and double the cost of their two-pedal set.
When our video review was originally published, that was the reality we had to address. Since then, however, VRS has effectively reset expectations by keeping the Formula Wheel on a long-running 60% discount, bringing the price down to US$399. That places it much closer to entry- and mid-tier formula wheels, despite its build quality being comparable to much more expensive competitors. So the key question isn’t whether this wheel is overpriced, but whether its long-running “sale” pricing makes it the best value way to complete a VRS rig.
