SEAT BELT TENSIONER MOD! The BEST $15 I've spent on my Sim Racing Rig!

OK so this completely blew my mind! One of our Discord Server members, RamjetX, suggested I do a simple modification to the way the seat belts attach to the cockpit frame on my Next Level Racing GTTrack and Motion Simulator Platform V3.

Normally you connect the belts to the seat rails so they move in unison with the motion platform, but by connecting them to base beneath the motion platform via some rubber straps (to add some elasticity), we were able to create the effect of the belts tightening around your shoulders as you brake, which adds a whole additional level of immersion to sim racing.

It sounds too good to be true, but it WORKS!

Here’s exactly how we did it 🙂

NOTE: I have OK’d this with Next Level Racing, but they do caution you to please not overtighten the straps. For other manufacturers, please check before you replicate something like this. Under no circumstances should your belts ever be connected directly to the cockpit frame when using a motion platform, and under no circumstances to I take responsibility for any damage to your equipment or injury sustained from following this guide.
