Welcome back to our video series on building a Racing Simulator! In this series we are going to be replacing my 8 year old Logitech G27 and Wheel Stand Pro with some more high end gear including a Next Level Racing F-GT Cockpit, Fanatec ClubSport Wheel Base v2.5, Fanatec ClubSport Pedals V3, Fanatec ClubSPort BMW M3 GT2 Racing wheel and Fanatec ClubSport Formula Carbon Racing Wheel and establishing if higher end gear actually makes you a faster and more consistent driver.
In today’s video I take you along with some laps in F1 2018 using my old Logitech G27 racing wheel and pedals on a Wheel Stand Pro. This is the setup I’ve been using for the last 8 years, so I’m pretty accustomed to it, but as you’ll see, consistency is still a real issue for me, especially with the racing line turned off!
Anyway, in this video we’ll establish some lap times as a base-point for comparison once the new setup is finished and come back later on to compare results and see if I’m faster and more consistent.
Next we’ll be getting into setting up the new gear so stay tuned 🙂
A lot has changed since I made this video! Check out our Fanatec Buyers Guide for the latest up-to-date info on Fanatec Gear!
